Hon. Minister for Tourism, Ian Douglas, is calling for increased support for Dominica’s annual World Creole Music Festival. The Minister made that appeal while addressing the official launch of this year’s festival last week.

“It means, therefore, that as we open the doors to this year’s festival, we do so in the hope that more persons, sponsors, partners and of course, our cherished overseas patrons will come in to the home of the World Creole Music Festival, the hope of cadencelypso, the home of buoyon.

We want you to enter in the knowledge and in the hope that you will work with us to continue to use the joy of music and the music of our Creole world to help us to take in larger numbers and to bring in bigger audiences in a cliché which is always and frequently used now, to take not only the World Creole Music Festival but our music in general to the next level.”

Dominica’s 14th annual World Creole Music Festival will be held from the 29th to the 31st of October, 2010. It will feature artistes Like Jah Cure, Luciano, Princess Lover, Krosfyah, Les Aiglons, T Vice Exile One, Midnight Groovers, Wck and Triple Kay.
