Hundreds of school children, teachers, friends and well-wishers converged on Carnival City on Sunday 27th February, 2011 to witness the Miss Teen Pageant, 2011 as part of activities to mark carnival celebrations, 2011.

Her performing talent, belly dancing, saw her rhythmically shaking and swaying and dancing on stage to the awe of the audience. A video clip of her performance best describes it all. Despite Spanish being her native language, Miss Rodriguez admirably overcame her language barrier. She was sponsored by LIME.

The other contestants for this year’s Miss Teen were 15 year old Aimee Augustine from the Kalinago Territory representing the North East Comprehensive School and sponsored by the Waitikubuli National Trail Project, 16 year old Millie Casimir from Portsmouth representing the Portsmouth Secondary School and sponsored by Bull’s Eye Pharmacy, 15 year old Anessa Williams from Trafalgar representing the Goodwill Secondary School sponsored by New India Assurance and 16 year old Stella Alcendor from Grand Bay representing the Pierre Charles Secondary School sponsored by Scotia Bank of Dominica.

First runner-up went to Millie Casimir while Amie Augustine was adjudged second runner up.

Miss Congeniality went to Aimee Augustine while Miss Photogenic went to Stellar Alcendor. Millie Casimir got the award for best speech while Aimee Augustine received the award for best answer to the question.

There were a number of performances on the night of the show including calypsonians Tasha P, Young Bull and the Mighty Logars.
